Introduction 

The 2024 World Double Bit Axe Throwing Championships were held August 23-25, 2024 in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, England at the Thirsk Racecourse horse racing track. 

The event was organized and hosted by Axemore Axe Throwing Club with lead organizer Ian Radmore and his amazing team of volunteers. 

205 axe throwers from 13 nations competed for world titles in Singles and Teams divisions. 

Nations present included: 

Canada, Croatia, England, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, USA and Wales

2024 World Champions are:

Women’s Singles Champion – Ceola McGowan, Ireland*

Men’s Singles Champion- Stefan Person, Sweden**

Junior Singles Champion – Roland Peet, Estonia 

Team Champions, Women’s division – Team Sweden (Anki Hedberg, Majly Frisk, Mard Sungalene)

Team Champions, Men’s/Mixed division – Team Germany (Berend Repp, Andreas Rettig, Markus Fenske)  

* Ceola wins back to back world titles with her win in 2022 at the World Championships in Canada

**Stefan win is three world titles in a row with wins at the World Championships in Sweden 2019 and again in Canada 2022
